...Tollgate Welsh Terriers Pedigree History...

Tollgate Terriers started out with a beautiful daughter of Ch Kirkwood Top Brass (”Ben”), a sire who is shaping the breed
for the foreseeable future.
Ch. Rattletrap Tollgate Moccasin (“Molly”), bred by Chris Hofer,  became a Group winner
and, more importantly, the dam of 8 good champions.  Her son,
Ch. Tollgate Princequillo (“Prince”), is the sire of my latest
four champions.

I was fortunate to be one of the few to breed to Dick Briggs’s
Ch Briggsdale Gold Eagle, before he was sold and became
unavailable to outside breeders.  Closely related to Ben and Molly, he strengthened the characteristics I want in my Welsh Terriers
– health, good conformation, and people-friendly temperament.

Later “Goldie,”
Ch Rattletrap Tollgate Gold Beauty , also bred by Chris Hofer, entered the picture.  A Top Brass
granddaughter whose dam was Gold Eagle’s litter sister, she was a perfect bitch to enhance the line from two directions.  Bred to
Prince, so far Goldie has given me one champion (plus one more almost finished), with more to come, I’m sure.

Now, a couple of generations down the road, it was time to go out to an unrelated sire. For Goldie’s 2007 litter, I chose
Felstead Falcon, a closely-linebred dog from Wales who will, I hope, contribute his excellent coat and color and more dog-
friendly temperament to my dogs.

Another strand of breeding entered Tollgate Terriers when Molly was bred to
Ch Cisseldale’s Radar, producing her usual
several champions.
Ch Tollgate TaWee inherited her mom’s show attitude, her dad’s mellow temperament, and that
champion thing, producing two champions from her first litter, sired by her half-brother,
Ch. Tollgate Princequillo.  In 2007
she was bred successfully to
Ch Tollgate Rollicking, then in 2008 back to Prince, resulting in a litter of 7, at least one of
which will see the show ring.
